Teaching Acupuncture for Pain Relief in Wisconsin

I had a great weekend in Madison teaching Acupuncture for Orthopedic Disorders for the sports medicine acupuncture specialist.  An old student, Kathryn Coppola of Madison Acupuncture, was kind enough to organize it so that all I had to do was fly in and teach.  Another old student and friend Scott Bartel of Seven Stones Acupuncture was kind enough to drive across the state to hang out with us.  It was wonderful to see old students and meet new friends and colleagues.  The first day focused on the lower extremity- plantar fasciitis, ankle pain, osteoarthritis of the knee, chondromalacia,  IT Band Syndrome, and hip pain.  I taught that part, and was on the learning side of the table when certain Acupuncturists with a tremendous amount of experience taught me about bunions.  It was great.

Acupuncture is a wonderful, safe, powerful medicine in the treatment of pain from many different etiologies.  It is not a quick fix, but it works extremely well and offers the possibility of a life without needing to feel pain and take drugs every day- sometimes necessary, but often taken only because the sufferer does not know of the freedom acupuncture can give them.

I left Boulder in the 70 degree summer weather and came back in winter.  I am hoping for a great ski season, and wish you all a healthy and accident free winter-

Amy Dickinson L.Ac.
